Ice Hockey World Championship: Canada vs. Switzerland live on TV and live stream today

In the second semi-final, Canada, the “motherland of ice hockey”, will meet the outsiders from Switzerland today (7.15 p.m. in the LIVETICKER). Here you will find all information about the game as well as the transmission on TV and the Internet.

As 26-time world champions, the Canadians are the clear favourite against the Swiss, who only just qualified for the knockout round.

The game starts today, Saturday 19 May, at 19:15. Like the other semi-final, the final and the match for third place, the match will take place in the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The streaming portal DAZN broadcasts the entire match live, as well as all other World Cup matches. Christoph Stadtler will be the commentator of the game, David Wolf will accompany him as an expert.

DAZN costs 9,99 Euro per month, whereby the first month is free. In addition to the World Cup, DAZN also broadcasts numerous NHL matches as well as NBA, NFL and MLB games. Recently DAZN also owns the rights to the Russian KHL league. The “Netflix des Sports” also features all the top European football leagues in its programme.

Sport1 will also broadcast the game.

If it is not possible for you to see live pictures of the game, you can also watch the SPOX-LIVETICKER.

After the successful Canadians had to settle for a different medal colour than gold at both the Olympics and the last World Cup, the title is to be regained this year. With tournament victory number 27, the North Americans could even catch up with record world champion Russia.

However, the course of the tournament so far has not been optimal. In the preliminary round there were two defeats and in the end only third place. In the quarter-finals, the team eliminated one of the big favourites, Olympic champion Russia.

Switzerland will go into the match against Canada as a clear outsider, after all, the Swiss have had far fewer successes in the past and have yet to really convince at the World Cup. In the group stage, the Swiss only made it to fourth place on the last matchday, qualifying for participation in the quarter-finals.

With the victory against Finland in the knockout round, however, the team managed the first surprise. Now, as in 2013, the final will take place when Switzerland won the silver medal, the first precious metal since 1953.
