WTA: Svitolina leaves Kontaveit no chance in Rome semi-final

Elina Svitolina is in the final of the WTA-Premier-Tournament in Rome. The Ukrainian defeated Anett Kontaveit in two sets.

It only took 74 minutes, then Elina Svitolina secured her way into the final of the WTA Premier Tournament in Rome with an unchallenged 6-4 and 6-3 win over Anett Kontaveit. There she will meet either Simona Halep or Maria Sharapova.

Svitolina has defeated Angelique Kerber in the round of the last eight, as clearly as in the semi-final round now Kontaveit. The last few weeks had not been particularly successful for the 23-year-old Ukrainian – at the beginning of the season Svitolina had won the titles in Brisbane and Dubai with strong performances.
