ATP: Out in Geneva: Mischa Zverev continues to fight for his form

Mischa Zverev (30) continues to fight for his form shortly before the French Open (from 27 May). At the ATP tournament in Geneva, the eighth-placed Hamburg player lost to Mirza Basic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in the first round. The world rankings 51st was down 7:5, 3:6, 4:6 on 31 positions in Basic.

It was Zverev’s ninth defeat this year after the first-round defeat in Madrid. At the Masters in Rome, the older brother of Germany’s top player Alexander Zverev had already failed in qualifying.

The other German starters Peter Gojowczyk (Munich), Florian Mayer (Bayreuth) and qualifier Dominik Köpfer (Furtwangen) will enter the sand court tournament on Monday.
