Last year, the Swedish national team crowned themselves world champions by beating Canada 2-1 after P.. This year, too, the Scandinavians are showing their best side. In the group stage, all matches were won (only against Slovakia in extra time) and in the knockout stage, Latvia and the USA were defeated. Especially the victory against the Americans should be remembered even longer, when the NHL stars were shot 6:0 out of the hall.
The course of the tournament in Switzerland could not have been more contradictory. In the group stage, the Swiss only managed to advance to fourth place on the last day of the match. However, with victories over fellow favourites Finland and Canada, Switzerland were surprisingly able to repeat their entry into the 2013 final.
