Sebastian Fanselow has won the $15,000 ITF tournament in Prague/Czech Republic.
The 26-year-old defeated his compatriot Peter Torebko 7-5, 6-3 in the final and won his eighth tournament victory at ITF level – his first in 2018. Torebko had won the semi-final against Peter Hiller 6-4, 6-2. The number one of the tournament, Bruno Sant’anna, had already failed in round one due to Kai Wehnelt.
Torebko won 6-4, 6-4 at Jeroen Vanneste’s side against Antonin Bolardt/Marek Rehacek from the Czech Republic.
A successful week also ended for Frederik Press. The 23-year-old lost to Alexander Ritschard 4:6, 3:6 in the final of the $15,000 tournament in Kalmar, Sweden, and thus missed his first tournament success. Press had eliminated top seed Markus Eriksson 6:1, 6:0 in the quarter-finals.
Other semi-finals included Marc Sieber in Zalaegerszeg/Hungary ($15,000), Marvin Netuschil in Ustron/Poland ($15,000) and Semi Reinwein in Luan/China ($25,000). Christian Hirschmüller won the double with Dane Propoggia in Doboj/Bosnia-Herzegovina (15,000 US dollars).
