ATP: Maximilian Marterer in Lyon

Maximilian Marterer retired from the ATP tournament in Lyon.

The 22-year-old lost to Briton Cameron Norrie in the round of 16 with 1:6, 4:6, so that no German pro is represented in Lyon. Torturer thus missed a possible duel against John Isner, who was seeded on two occasions.

The number one of the tournament, Dominic Thiem, will face Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
