French Open: Referee Eva Asderaki-Moore with baby belly in action

Serena Williams is not the only lady who is in the spotlight at the French Open because of her pregnancy. Because Eva Asderaki-Moore, chair referee on the tour, can’t resist being with Roland Garros despite her large baby tummy.

The Greek has made a name for herself on the tour in recent years with consistently confident performances. In late summer 2015, Asderaki-Moore was the first woman to lead a men’s final at the US Open.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer were not right throughout the match when they tried the Hawk Eye.

On Sunday, the 36-year-old made her first appearance in Paris. In Barbora Strycova’s three-set victory over Kurumi Nara, she had to endure for over two and a half hours. She had to overcome one of the greatest challenges of a chair referee, as she once told at the Australian Open:

Asderaki-Moore announced the gender of her offspring on the tennis court. At a Fed Cup game a few months ago, the Australian asked before the game whether it would be a boy or a girl.
