NBA: JR Smith before game 4: “It could have been 2-1”

J.R. Smith spoke to SPOX and DAZN about the starting situation of the Cleveland Cavaliers before the fourth and perhaps last game of the NBA Finals. The clear deficit of 0-3 is not necessarily justified. Team-mate Rodney Hood is also disappointed, but remains optimistic.

“It could have stood for us 2-1,” Smith said in an exclusive interview with DAZN and SPOX. Despite the unfortunate course of the series so far, his Cavaliers have not given up yet: “Although we are 0-3 behind we can still turn the series.

So far, however, no team has ever managed this in the playoffs. In order to make the historical comeback possible, one should not argue too much with past games: “We now have to think from game to game, even from quarter to quarter. We can only make it if we take our time.”

Smith himself hasn’t cut a good figure so far, but showed positive approaches in game three. About his own task for Game 4, Smith said: “If we want to win, I have to score. I have to stay aggressive on the offensive and do what I can.”

Rodney Hood also expressed disappointment to DAZN and SPOX about the outcome of Game 3: “We made a good game and were close to winning,” Hood said. “But there’s another game ahead and I think we’ll be able to win at home.”

The goals of the Cavs are still the same. “We still want to win the championship – even though many people say we won’t make it,” Hood said. But in game 4 you have to win for the first time. The game can be seen live on DAZN during the night from Friday to Saturday from 3 am.
