ATP: Nadal leads the “Race”, Zverev, Thiem, Marach and Peya can look to London

The second Grand Slam Tournament 2018 basically brought only positive shifts for the German-speaking aces in terms of the annual ranking.

Rafael Nadal not only defended the top of the ATP world rankings, with his eleventh success in Roland Garros the Spaniard also took the lead in Alexander Zverev’s Race to London. Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro follow.

Dominic Thiem is fifth in the annual ranking, with almost 3,000 points the Austrian number one can probably already plan his third appearance at the ATP final in London.

There is number seven for Thiem in the regular ATP charts, where del Potro has improved to number four. The second semi-finalist eliminated in Paris, Marco Cecchinato, jumped 45 places and is now number 27 in the world.

Maximilian Marterer made up 20 places, the young German finished in the Top 50.

In the Doubles Race the Paris finalists Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic lead confidently in front of the pausing Bryan brothers, Alexander Peya and Nikola Mektic are also allowed to look to London in fifth place.

At the moment the duo Jan-Lennard Struff and Ben McLachlan are in ninth position. The German-Japanese pair is currently 160 points short of eighth place.
