NBA: Dwayne Casey Apparently Becomes New Detroit Pistons Head Coach

Dwayne Casey appears to be the new head coach of the Detroit Pistons. Casey is said to have signed a five-year contract with the Pistons. This is reported by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

According to Wojnarowski’s report, the Pistons made it very clear in their negotiations with the coach that he was the ideal solution for the vacant coaching position. Casey’s goal is to successfully lead the franchise back into the playoffs.

The American will take over from Stan van Gundy, who had to take his hat off after four years with the Pistons in early May.

Casey himself led the Toronto Raptors to a new franchise record last season with 59 wins in the Regular Season, but failed once again in the second play-off round due to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and was subsequently dismissed.
