ATP: Andy Murray makes his longed-for comeback in Queens

The Briton Andy Murray will make his comeback next week after his almost one-year injury break.

The three-time Grand Slam winner has overcome his hip injury and will take part in the famous grass court tournament at the Queen’s Club. Murray has won the London West tournament five times.

In January, the 31-year-old decided to have hip surgery after persistent problems. Originally, the Scot wanted to compete in the Dutch’s-Hertogenbosch this week, but withdrew his start. On Friday Murray played two sets against the British number three Cameron Norrie in practice and then gave the “green light” for Queens.

Murray’s goal is to participate in Wimbledon, where he had triumphed in 2013 and 2016. On the holy turf, Murray had played his last game against Sam Querrey (USA) in the quarter-finals in 2017. The former number one is currently only 157th in the world rankings.
