ATP: Murray narrowly loses to Kyrgios at comeback

The British tennis star Andy Murray has just lost his first match after an injury break of almost a year.

The three-time Grand Slam winner, who has just recovered from a hip injury, lost to Australian Nick Kyrgios, world number 21, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 5-7 in the first round of the Queen’s Club grass court tournament, and Murray has already won five times in the London West. Murray was enthusiastically received.

In January, the 31-year-old decided to have hip surgery after persistent problems. Originally the Scot wanted to compete in the Dutch’s-Hertogenbosch last week, but withdrew his start.

Murray’s goal is to participate in Wimbledon, where he had triumphed in 2013 and 2016. On the holy turf, Murray had played his last game against Sam Querrey (USA) in the quarter-finals in 2017. The former number one is currently only 156th in the world rankings.

Novak Djokovic had already made it into the second round in the late afternoon. The former world number one won 6-2, 6-1 against John Millman and Djokovic will now face Grigor Dimitrov.
