For the 132nd time Wimbledon is at the door. On July 2, the men and women will start into the third Grand Slam tournament of the year. SPOX gives you all the important information about the tennis tournament: dates, schedule, TV program, prize money, ticket prizes and record winners.
Along with the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open, Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments on the tennis calendar. The only one of the four Grand Slams to be played on grass in Wimbledon, which is why the tournament in London is always a special event. For many sports fans, Wimbledon is the most prestigious tournament of the year.
Pay-TV channel Sky has again secured the rights to Wimbledon this year. From the first week of the tournament, the station always broadcasts from noon and until the evening on five stations simultaneously. Until the final on July 15th all games of the Center Court and Court No. 1 will be available in full length.

The qualifiers for Wimbledon 2018 will start on 25 June and will be posted here as soon as the players for the first round have been determined.
Roger Federer is the absolute favourite of the men’s competition. In 2017 he completed his eighth individual Wimbledon tournament win, none won more often than him in Wimbledon.
Roland Garros winner Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are permanent title contenders behind them. Whether Nadal Federer will get in the way of grass on his favourite surface, however, is questionable.
Marin Cilic and the German Alexander Zverev are considered secret favourites for the tournament victory.
In the women’s singles, the big favorite is Serena Williams. The American is not yet satisfied with seven Wimbledon victories.
The toughest competitor is defending champion Garbine Muguruza. Angelique Kerber is also one of the favourites. Kerber had already reached the Wimbledon final in 2016, where he lost to Williams.
