ATP Challenger: Gerald Melzer leads Austrian quartet in Poprad Tatry

Good start for the Austrian starters at the ATP-Challenger-Tournament in Poprad Tatry. In addition to tournament favourite Gerald Melzer, three other red-white-red pros made it into the second round.

Very strong Tuesday for the Austrian players at the ATP-Challenger in Poprad Tatry in Slovakia: Gerald Melzer, seeded in position one, beat the Czech Pavel Nejedly 6:2, 6:2. Dennis Novak won against experienced Lukas Rosol 6:1 and 7:5.

Novak thus made an Austrian duel in round two clear: Maximilian Neuchrist, who won against Ante Pavic 6-4 and 6-2, is waiting there.

Andreas Haider-Maurer also made a successful start. “AHM” had after survived qualification at 6:3, 6:4 against the Czech Marek Jaloviec few problems. In round two haider Maurer will play Mohamed Safwat from Egypt.
