WTA: Antonia Lottner out on Mallorca

Antonia Lottner (Düsseldorf) has missed the quarter finals of the WTA tournament on Mallorca. The 21-year-old had to admit defeat to number three seeded Anastasiya Sevastova (Latvia) 6:1, 3:6, 1:6 after a big fight over 1:33 hours.

The only German player in the quarter-finals is Tatjana Maria (Bad Saulgau). The 30-year-old will face either two-time Grand Slam winner Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) or number seven seeded Czech Lucie Safarova on Friday.

It would have been Lottner’s second consecutive appearance in a WTA quarter-final. Already at the tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands last week, the Düsseldorf native had reached the round of the last eight.
