Jo Konta lost the final of the WTA tournament in Nottingham last weekend in three sets. In the final, Brit Ashleigh Barty lost 3-6, 6-3 and 4-6 and during the third set Konta also lost her nerves and let her frustration towards the chair referee run free.

After a tight ball from Barty was not given out, Konta started a monologue: “This is an absolute joke! Do you even understand that you’re changing the course of the game,” said Konta.

And further: “We are out here and literally destroy ourselves like no other, but you make decisions that influence our lives. Do you understand that?”

Only a short time later Konta lost her serve to the set and match loss, Barty had her second career title in her pocket.

While Konta congratulated her opponent fairly, she waived a handshake with the referee.
