In the singles, the ATP World Tour 500 tournament for Germany’s number one didn’t go well – in the team with brother Mischa Alexander Zverev, on the other hand, plays great at the Gerry Weber Open. After 6-3, 3-6 and 10-5 against Nikola Maektic and Alexander Peya, the Zverevs will face Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo in the final of the grass court tournament on Sunday. Melo, by the way, a close friend of the family, who is also a frequent visitor to the Zverev-Box.
Alexander and Mischa Zverev had defeated German Davis Cup doubles Tim Pütz and Jan-Lennard Struff in the quarter-finals after beating Jean-Julien Rojer and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi in the opening round. In the singles Alexander lost in round one to Borna Coric, Mischa to the Russian Karen Khachanov.
There was no news of success for Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic at the 500cc tournament in London’s Queen´s Club. The number one seeded Austrian-Croatian pair lost in the semi-final against Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares 3:6, 7:6 (6) and 7:10.
