Wimbledon: Barbara Haas also masters second qualifying round

One victory is still missing, then Barbara Haas would be in the main field of Wimbledon. In the second qualifying round, the Austrian beat Dayana Yastremska in two sets.

Haas needed only 63 minutes to beat the Ukrainian, who was clearly ahead of her in the world rankings, 6-4 and 6-2. The Upper Austrian lost her opponent’s serve a total of five times and only had to take two breaks herself.

Haas will now face either Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania in the third and final round or Arina Rodionova, who is seeded in position 13 and competing for Australia.

Here is the women’s qualification tableau for Wimbledon 2018
