Wimbledon: Barbara Haas retired – Jürgen Melzer, Dennis Novak in action

Barbara Haas has lost her qualifying final for Wimbledon. The 22-year-old lost 6-0, 7-5 to Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania, while Jürgen Melzer and Dennis Novak are still fighting for their ticket to the main draw on Thursday afternoon.

While Haas won only six points in the first set, she received medical treatment at the beginning of the second round. After that, she quickly led 4-2, but then had to relinquish her serve twice and after a little less than an hour and a half was determined to lose.

Melzer and Novak each play a little later against a German player: Yannick Maden and Matthias Bachinger are the opponents.
