ATP: Hurlingham Exhibition: Lucas Pouille misses Rafael Nadal damper before Wimbledon start

Rafael Nadal had to take a damper on the preparations for the tournament in Wimbledon. A few days before the big showdown, the Spaniard lost to the Frenchman Lucas Pouille at an exhibition event in Hurlingham.

In the end it was a deserved victory for Lucas Pouille at the fun tournament in Hurlingham.

Besides Pouille and Nadal, Grigor Dimitrov, Kei Nishikori and other great names of the tennis world gathered there. The exhibition tournament will serve as preparation for the Wimbledon Grand Slam starting on Monday.

For Nadal, Hurlingham will be remembered with mixed feelings. The day before, the world number one beat Matthew Ebden 7-6 (3) and 7-5 to lose to Lucas Pouille on Friday.

7:6 (10) and 7:5 stood at the end for Pouille on the scoreboard, who presents himself in great form before the showdown in London. Especially the serve of the Frenchman went well and left Nadal only few possibilities for the return.

In Wimbledon Nadal is number two behind defending champion Roger Federer and will try to win his third title on the Holy Lawn.
