Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro have confirmed their participation in the Laver Cup 2018. So far, four participants have been determined for the competition between the team from Europe and a world selection.
“Roger Federer and I have played so many tough matches against each other,” said Djokovic, “He is such a great champion, so it will be a unique experience to be part of his team and maybe even compete together in doubles.
Last year, the Laver Cup made its debut in Prague, when the European team beat the World Cup 15:9.
Team World will enjoy a “home advantage” this time when it comes to the second edition in Chicago next September. “I’ve had some of my best career moments playing as part of a team,” said Del Potro, who has been named second player alongside Nick Kyrgios, “so I’m very excited to attack with Team World at the Laver Cup.
As last year, the two teams will be led by two renowned captains: Björn Borg will take the lead in Team Europe, while John McEnroe will sit on the bank of the world’s choice.
