Service: Wimbledon-Favoritencheck by Mybet: Open field behind Federer, Kvitova in front away

The showdown in Wimbledon is coming up and the stars have prepared themselves for the biggest tennis tournament in the world with some preparation tournaments in the past weeks. Once again this year, there is speculation about the favourites for the golden pot with the handle. Betting provider Mybet tells you the odds for the Grand Slam tournament and gives you a forecast who could end up holding the coveted trophy!

There is no need to discuss the men’s favourites. Defending champion Roger Federer is as fresh as at his best times and has made history once again with his 98th career title in Stuttgart. Once again the number one in the world, another tournament victory more on the list and the “Maestro” knows how to enrapture as ever.

The final defeat at the “home tournament” in Halle Westphalia alone will put an end to the Swiss’s renewed triumphal march. With a week’s rest to recover, however, the bankruptcy should be forgotten. Federer’s big annual goal is Wimbledon anyway.

In short: Federer is the hunted one. Period.

Federer’s Mybet winning rate: 2.65 (as of 29.06.2018)

Behind it, with a little air, is Rafael Nadal. Even if the Spaniard is not considered a lawn specialist, “Rafa” forms the strong duo of the ATP tour together with Federer. With his two victories in Wimbledon (2008 and 2010), the Spaniard has proven that he can play on the green underground – and above all beat Federer. A number two bet could be a real treat in the final. If Nadal is in full possession of his powers this is anything but utopian.

Nadal’s Mybet winning rate: 7.50 (as of 29.06.2018)

With the increase in performance in the Queen’s Club, Novak Djokovic has put his personal details high on the list of favourites. After starting difficulties during his comeback, the “Djoker” really seems to find its old strength. With a slightly different style, the Serbian is again acting hungry and aggressive – this helps especially on grass. The twelve-time major winner has also won Wimbledon and knows the tournament well. The big coup seems far away but not impossible. Surprise is the order of the day!

Djokovic’ Mybet winner rate: 6.25 (as of 29.06.2018)

The big three names are worn out and it’s time for Alexander Zverev. With three five-set matches at this year’s French Open, the number three has shown the world that he can fight too. So why not just stir up the field in Wimbledon, act with self-confidence and play to its strengths? Zverev can serve extremely strong and walk smoothly through the balls. That’s what the people call lawn tennis. For the 21-year-old, the round of the last four is anything but a coup de main. The German number one doesn’t even have to hope for a good draw and play daring. Zverev is slowly sniffing at the big title – maybe earlier than expected…

Zverev’s Mybet winning rate: 15.0 (as of: 29.06.2018)

Strong serves and smooth baseline whips? That sounds a lot like Marin Cilic. Last year the giant serve was in the final and was brought to his knees by Federer. This year, too, the new husband will play at the front. Cilic has the mental strength for another final. However, the level in the field is extremely high. One should not copy the Croatian after winning the title in the Queen’s Club in any case!

Cilic’ Mybet winner rate: 8.0 (as of 29.06.2018)

Behind Cilic and Co. are names like Dominic Thiem and Juan Martín del Potro. After another outstanding clay court season, Thiem in particular wants to prove that he can also be a serious opponent on grass.

In Halle, this project hadn’t really worked yet. It wasn’t due to the 24-year-old’s commitment, but rather the lack of turf experience is the factor that brought Thiem some early defeats. The Lower Austrian will compete in the United Kingdom as a surprise package.

Thiems Mybet winner rate: 35.0 (as of 29.06.2018)

For the Argentinean del Potro, once again his own body will be decisive. The “Tower of Tandil” can keep up with its strong service and the outstanding forehand on the fast ground. The gentle giant is certainly capable of the decisive rounds – if he stays fit.

Del Potros Mybet winner rate: 20.0 (as of 29.06.2018)

At least one eye should be on Nick Kyrgios. The Australian could be considered an insider tip for the Wimbledon victory. With extravagant play, unorthodox behavior on the court and a tremendous amount of talent in his arms, Kyrgios can beat any player. Perhaps the 23-year-old will awaken memories of his appearance in 2014. At that time, newcomer Rafael Nadal beat in the fourth round – the breakthrough to final professionalism had been successful.

The only thing keeping Kyrgios from the big score so far? The mental state of Australia’s number one. Maybe this year Kyrgios will bring his game together. One thing is clear: no outsider will be able to judge this. Not Kyrgios.

Kyrgios’ Mybet winning rate: 18.0 (as of 29.06.2018)

Last but not least, another youngster joins the extended group of favourites. The player’s name is Borna Coric, who held off a certain Roger Federer from the 10th tournament victory in the final of Halle.

From grass rookie to grass specialist. The chances of a long Grand Slam trip have never been better for the young Croatian than this year. A fighting spirit and a clean technique are united in Coric. We’ll see!

Coric’ Mybet winner rate: 40.0 (as of 29.06.2018)
