Roger Federer has saved strength in the first round of Wimbledon 2018: The defending champion from Switzerland defeated Dusan Lajovic in three sets.
Roger Federer has successfully started his “Mission Title Defence” in Wimbledon in 2018: The 36-year-old runner-up in the world rankings defeated Dusan Lajovicnach by almost 80 minutes 6-1, 6-3 and 6-4 and will face either Lukas Lacko from Slovakia or French qualifier Benjamin Bonzi in round two.
Federer presented himself for the first time in the outfit of his new outfitter, was at no time in danger of losing a set. Lajovic had forced the German number one, Alexander Zverev, into a five-round match at the French Open. However, the Serbian lacked the means against Federer.
The 20-time Major Champion, on the other hand, seemed much more lively than in the final of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Halle/Westphalia, which Federer lost to Borna Coric. And so that the top in the ATP charts gave back to Rafael Nadal.
Last year’s winners traditionally open the tournament on the Centre Court in Wimbledon, Garbine Muguruza will enter the tournament tomorrow, Tuesday, against British Naomi Broady.
