Wimbledon: Alexander Peya enters second round of doubles with Nikola Mektic

The Austrian Alexander Peya and his Croatian partner Nikola Mektic have entered the second round of the Wimbledon double competition. The duo seeded eighth in the grass classic defeated Jürgen Melzer/Daniel Nestor (Austria/Canada), who had moved into the main field with a wildcard.

After exactly 90 minutes the 6:3, 6:4, 6:4 success for the favored Peya/Mektic was finalized. My next opponents are Mirza Basic/Dusan Lajovic (Bosnia-Herzegovina/Serbia).

On the other hand, Philipp Oswald on the side of Belarusian Max Mirnyi surprisingly failed already at the beginning. The two veterans, seeded 16th in Wimbledon, lost 1:6, 7:6 (7:5), 2:6, 6:7 (1:7) against Julio Peralta/Horacio Zeballos (Chile/Argentina).

The first round match of the top seeded double Oliver Marach/Mate Pavic (Austria/Croatia) was postponed from Thursday to Friday due to dusk.
