“Eyes closed and through” – The Peugeot Tie-Break-Shoot-Out-Winner in an exclusive interview

The time has come again! Feel like an ATP professional? This year this is possible within the Generali Open Kitzbühel. Together with the Hobby Tennis Tour, Kitzbühel will host the big amateur tournament from 30 July to 1 August 2018. For the numerous hobby players it’s not just about the honour of being part of the Tie Break Shoot Outs. In addition to the experience of leaving your mark on Kitzbüheler Boden, you can also win spectacular prizes. Where elsewhere the tournament winners are presented with a car, Kitzbühel is different: here the winner of the amateur tournament can look forward to a brand new Peugeot 2008 SUV GT Line. One has already tasted this feeling. Thomas Glasner triumphed last year and we had an exclusive interview with the first-time winner of the Peugeot Tiebreak shootout. How he experienced his greatest career triumph, how it feels to be cheered by crowds of people, and how to mentally approach the Challenge Peugeot Tie Break Shootout was revealed to us by the Upper Austrian premiere winner.

Winning a tennis tournament with over 200 participants is a great thing. To successfully compete in an event with so much public attention, but once again a completely different level, and to remain victorious in a competition with an incomprehensible prize in the form of a car, wrestles with the highest respect. Tell us how you experienced the award ceremony at the Centercourt before the ATP finale at the Generali Open?

Before there was this atmospheric award ceremony, you had to deliver sporty on the tennis court, and especially in the semifinal on the grounds of the KTC your big highlight. Tell us about it!

Such a match tiebreak to 10 with handicap system. Do you have a tip or two for new participants? What’s the best way to do that from your point of view, and don’t you keep thinking about the car?

What has changed for you with your victory at the Peugeot Tie Break Shootout 2017, or has anything changed in your life, at least in the first weeks?

After that, a celebration marathon will have broken out. How long was the sensational success celebrated?

What value, especially ideally, does the won car have for you?

One final question! There is an anecdote that you broke your old car just before your victory. What’s the point?
