ATP: Out of the Round of 16 for Torture in Umag

Nuremberg tennis pro Maximilian Marterer has dropped out of the ATP tournament in Umag, Croatia, which cost around 560,000 euros.

One day after his opening win over the local wildcard player Nino Serdarusic, the 23-year-old French Open round of 16 was beaten 6-7 (4-7), 3-6 by the Serbian Laslo Djere. Marterer was the only German in the main field at the clay court tournament on the Istrian peninsula.
