ATP Challenger: Sebastian Ofner in Astana already in the semi-finals

Austria’s Davis Cup player Sebastian Ofner has reached the semi-finals of the ATP Challenger tournament in Astana: The Styrian defeated local hero Aleksandr Nedovyedsov in three sets.

Sebastian Ofner already has 35 points for the ATP world ranking list on his credit side: The Austrian defeated Aleksandr Nedovyesov 7:5, 1:6 and 6:1 in just under two hours at the ATP Challenger Tournament in Astana and is already in the semifinals of the event endowed with 125,000 US dollars.

There Ofner now meets Alexei Popyrin, a young Australian. Ofner could get tips for this match from Dominic Thiem: He trained with Popyrin several times during the French Open last year. At that time, the 18-year-old man from Sydney won the junior competition.

Jurij Rodionov is another Austrian in the quarter-finals of Astana.
