ATP: Mischa Zverev reaches quarter-finals in Atlanta

Tennis pro Mischa Zverev has reached the quarter-finals of the ATP tournament in Atlanta. The seventh-placed Hamburg player won on hard court 6-4, 6-2 against the Russian Mikail Youzhny.

Zverev had defeated US local hero Tim Smyczek.

World Ranking-45th Zverev (30), the only German in the main draw, will face either top seeded US player John Isner or Alex De Minaur (Australia) in the final eight round. Zverev has won 3-2 against Isner, the German defeated the Wimbledon semi-finalist at the US open 2017.

The tournament is endowed with 748,450 dollars. Behind Isner, the Australian Nick Kyrgios is in second place.
