Dominic Thiem could meet Sebastian Ofner in his first match in Kitzbühel. This was the result of the draw for the Generali Open 2018.

Philipp Kohlschreiber had come in good spirits, albeit in a slightly cold, to the draw for the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Kitzbühel, the Generali Open. Not by bike, the defending champion wanted to save that for those days when he is back in full fitness at the Kitzbühel Tennis Club.
Kohlschreiber, however, was not allowed to view the tableau with dissatisfaction: After a walk-through in round one, they face either a qualifier or the Argentinian Federico Delbonis, whom Kohlschreiber knows well – and against whom the long-time German number one would go into the match as the favourite.
The same applies to Dominic Thiem. The top favourite will either meet compatriot Sebastian Ofner or a qualifier at his first individual appearance in Kitzbühel in 2018. Emotionally not uninteresting, also with regard to the further course of the tournament: Dennis Novak was also drawn into the top quarter. If the tournament goes well, Thiem could meet his buddy and double partner in the quarter-finals.
Maximilian Marterer and Jan-Lennard Struff were given solvable tasks: Struff, currently still engaged in doubles in Hamburg, will meet Taro Daniel from Japan. Maximilian Marterer has to deal with Jürgen Zopp. And could face Kohlschreiber in the quarter-finals. Who should be back in top form by then at the latest.
