A good start for the Austrian qualifiers in Kitzbühel: Jurij Rodionov made consistent use of his chances against Ernests Gulbis and won 6:2 and 6:4 after 1:09 hours of play.

The 19-year-old Rodionov will play on Sunday for a place in the Kitzbühel 28 grid, either against Matthias Haim or Lorenzo Sonego.
