ATP: John Isner wins fifth title in Atlanta

John Isner has won the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Atlanta. The first-placed American beat compatriot Ryan Harrison in three sets.

For a handful of titles in Atlanta: John Isner celebrated his fifth triumph at the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Atlanta on Sunday evening (local time), beating Ryan Harrison as last year. This time it was 5:7, 6:3 and 6:4, Isner’s 14th title overall on the tour, the second after Miami this year.

“It’s just incredible,” Isner explained after the final. “I think I said it last year: “There may come a time when I’m not in the final or when I’m not the champion here again, but right now I’m very happy that I won the title.

I prepare breakfast in my own room, feel at home, and that helps a lot,” continues the Wimbledon semi-finalist.

Sunday did not go well for Harrison in Atlanta on two occasions: After a single final at Rajeev Ram’s side he also played in the double final, losing there against Nicolas Monroe and John-Patrick Smith 6-3, 6-7 (5) and 8-10.
