Preparations for the last Grand Slam tournament of the year in Flushing Meadows are slowly starting. At the WTA tournament in San Jose from 30 July to 5 August some of the best players will meet on the hard court.

Silicon Valley Classic will take place from July 30 to August 5, with the qualifying rounds being played the weekend before. The tournament will be held for the first time in San Jose, California, after Stanford had been the venue in previous years. The games will be played on the grounds of San Jose State University.
Silicon Valley Classic is broadcast by DAZN streaming service. From the second day of the tournament on Tuesday, the Netflix des Sports will show several hours of live tennis from there every day.
DAZN will also broadcast many other WTA tournaments, including the simultaneous tournament in Washington. Also some WTA tournaments are shown at DAZN as well as Davis Cup and Fed Cup. The service costs 9.99 euros per month, but you can take out a free trial month in advance.
The field of participants in San Jose is led by the Williams sisters. Especially Serena wants the first title after her baby break. She has already won the previous Stanford tournament three times, while Sister Venus has already won two editions.
Last year’s winner Madison Keys and seventh in the world rankings, Garbine Muguruza, will also be competing in San Jose. Of the German ladies, however, there is no participant.
