ATP: Washington: First Zverev Brothers duel imminent

Mischa Zverev has reached the round of 16 at the hard court tournament in Washington D.C.. In the round of the last 16, the 30-year-old from Hamburg could meet his brother Alexander Zverev for the first time in an ATP match.

The 15th seeded Mischa Zverev turned his ninth match point to 6-2, 7-6 (7) in the second round against US player Tim Smyczek after a flutter of nerves.

Should defending champion Alexander Zverev (21) win his second round match against the Tunisian Malek Jaziri, which was interrupted by the rain, the first duel of the Zverev brothers would be perfect.

The match of the third in the world rankings was interrupted on Tuesday at 01:10 local time after the first set, which Zverev had won 6:2. The game will continue on Wednesday. In the doubles match, the two brothers meet the first seeded pair Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic.
