ITF Tour Round-up: Grabher after victory over Haas with Leipzig finale

For Julia Grabher, the ITF future in Leipzig, endowed with 25,000 US dollars, went into the final.

The 22-year-old Grabher was seeded in second place and played her way into the final without losing a set, which she lost 3:6, 2:6 against Varvara Flink from Russia, who was noted to four. Grabher thus missed her second tournament victory of the year at ITF level; she has already collected a total of six individual titles here.

On the way to the final Grabher had defeated her countrywoman Barbara Haas in the semifinal with 6:2, 6:3. Haas was seeded third in Leipzig.

The semifinals of the ITF tournament in Karlsruhe/Germany (15,000 US dollars) reached Thomas Statzberger. He lost to the top seeded Ivan Gakhov from Russia 5:7, 3:6 and Gakhov finally won the tournament.
