US Open: Philipp Kohlschreiber plays a duel with Alexander Zverev

Philipp Kohlschreiber has reached the third round at the US Open 2018 on Thursday. After losing the first set, he won against the Australian Matthew Ebden, who made 16 double mistakes 6:7(1), 6:3, 6:2, 6:0.

It is Kohlschreiber’s 16th appearance at the US Open and he made it into the third round for the eighth time. He achieved his best result in Flushing Meadows in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017, when he reached the last sixteen.

The 34-year-old has a 2-2 record against Alexander Zverev, the last two duels went to the youngster. In 2015, however, Kohlschreiber won a duel at the US Open in five sets.
