Roger Federer has reached the third round of the US Open 2018 on Thursday. The Swiss won against Benoit Paire in three sets 7:5, 6:4, 6:3 and will face Nick Kyrgios on Saturday.

In all his 18 appearances at the US Open so far, Federer survived the second round every time. Together with the Australian Open, Federer has won all his 73 matches in the first and second rounds of a Grand Slam on Hardcourt (Walkovers not included).

in the head-to-head with Kyrgios, he’s leading 2-1. “That’s exciting, of course, I have nothing to lose,” said Kyrgios, referring to his next opponent. “I’m gonna go out there and rip my butt open.”
