ATP: St. Petersburg: Lucas Miedler makes it into the main field

Lucas Miedler has survived the qualification at the ATP tournament in St. Petersburg.

Miedler, currently ranked 207th in the world, defeated Uladzimir Ignatik 7-5, 6-2 for the second time after his opening win over Viktor Troicki in the main draw of an ATP tournament – the first one he reached in Vienna in 2015, where he finished in round one.

Top seeded in St. Petersburg is Dominic Thiem, who has a walk-through in round one. Miedler’s position in the tableau will be drawn during the day.
