ATP Challenger: Rodionov starts in Khaosiung with victory, Neuchrist loses

Jurij Rodionov has entered the second round of the ATP Challenger tournament in Kaohsiung. Maximilian Neuchrist, on the other hand, retired.

Rodionov defeated the eighth seeded Indian in the $150,000 Challenger after 1:45 hours, 6:3, 5:7 and 6:3, beating Chun Hsin Tseng, who has already won two Grand Slam tournaments this year, in round two. As a junior, though. Tseng, who received a wild card in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, triumphed in Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

There was nothing to get for Maximilian Neuchrist, who also had to compete against a man from India. Ramkumar Ramanathan won 6:4 and 6:2 after 62 minutes.

Austria’s hopes are already buried again at the Challenger in Sibiu: Dennis Novak, who had won the Davis Cup against Australia, lost to Dragos Dima from Romania 2:6 and 1:6, while Sebastian Ofner lost to Marc Pohlmans, who was a sparring partner with the Australians in Graz, 5:7, 6:2 and 3:6.
