Oliver Marach and Jürgen Melzer are out of the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Metz. The Austrian Davis Cup players lost to the British brothers Neal and Ken Skupski in the semi-finals.
On Saturday Melzer and Marach had already stood together on the court in Graz, but lost their Davis Cup doubles against John Peers and Lleyton Hewitt. At the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Metz, however, the two veterans achieved two victories.
In the semi-finals, however, Skupski/Skupski won 4:6, 6_3 and 10:5.
Jürgen Melzer and his brother Gerald will now head to South America to play in two ATP Challenger tournaments. In singles and doubles. Melzer has named Oswald together with Philipp for the 500cc tournament in Vienna’s Stadthalle, but a wild card from organiser Herwig Straka is required for a start.
Oliver Marach, on the other hand, has a tight programme ahead of him, first in Asia and then also in Europe. But then again at the side of Mate Pavic, with whom the Styrian has already qualified for the ATP final in London.
