ATP: Not again! Jo-Wilfried Tsonga injured again

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has to withdraw from the Challenger tournament of Orleans. The reason for this is another injury.

Tsonga made his comeback last week at the 250cc tournament in Metz after a seven-month injury break. In his first-round game he had to admit defeat to German defending champion Peter Gojowczyk in three sets.

This week the 76th in the world rankings wanted to gain points and self-confidence at the second highest tournament level. But that won’t happen now. Tsonga suffered an abdominal muscle injury during training on Sunday. It is still unclear how long the Frenchman will be out of action.

“Positive” for Tsonga – the knee seems to hold. Nevertheless, the new time-out for the 33-year-old is a bitter setback. Only last week he had stressed that he was finally painless and wanted to return to the level of the past ten years in the future.
