WTA: Angie Kerber benefits from Keys task

Angelique Kerber has reached the eighth-finals of the WTA tournament in Wuhan, China, after a short appearance.

Angelique Kerber has won her first match after the US Open. Against Madison Keys from the USA, the woman from Kiel was leading 6:0, 4:1, when Keys threw in the towel – problems on her left knee. Last year’s US Open finalist had already been treated at the beginning of the second set.

Kerber now faces the winner of the game between Ashleigh Barty and Saisai Zheng in the $2,746,000 Premier Tournament.
