ITF: 10 million for the winner! Is the all-or-nothing tournament coming?

After the Davis Cup reform, two new tournament models are to take place. With one of them, the winner is to receive 10 million euros – all the others nothing.

Gerard Pique and his company Kosmos continue to work hard. Now that the new Davis Cup has been decided, a new tournament format will take place in the week after the US Open, according to the British Telegraph. To put it in words with ABBA: “The winner takes it all!”.

If the top players agree, it could be difficult to get the field full – because how many players without a realistic chance of winning would play in terms of the danger of going completely empty? The other question: How realistic is it that the top players will compete again right after the US Open? It is quite possible that Pique will have to reopen his wallet in the sense of a few starting days…
