The Davis Cup final tournament will take place in Madrid in 2019 and 2020. However, there is no date for the event yet.
Next year the Caja Magica will be the venue of the event. An ATP Masters 1000 tournament is held here every year. The Center Court has a capacity of 12,500 spectators and is also equipped with a roof.
Where the event is to take place in 2020, however, is not yet fixed. In addition to the Caja Magica, the “Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid” is also open to hosting. Basketball games and concerts are currently taking place at this indoor venue.
When exactly the tournament will take place, however, is still not fixed. The date at the end of November and a date in September are still under discussion.
If David Haggerty and Gerard Pique were to decide in favour of September, this would probably cause Roger Federer a great deal of incomprehension. The Swiss is the organizer of the Laver Cup, which takes place shortly after the US Open. It is also unclear on which surface it will be played.
