Serena Williams is promoting breast cancer screening in a sensational campaign.
In the one-minute video, the 23-time Grand Slam winner sings the hit “I Touch Myself” of the Australian band “The Divinyls” and covers her breasts with her hands.
She wanted to remind women to regularly palpate their breasts, Williams wrote to the post office, that it is a topic that concerns “all women” in the “whole world” – no matter what main color.
The 37-year-old made no secret of the fact that she had had to overcome the generous appearance. “Early detection is the key – it saves so many lives,” explained Serena Williams.
The video was clicked almost 1.8 million times on the Instagram account of the former number one alone in the first 24 hours after release. The “I Touch Myself” campaign recalls Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett, who died of breast cancer five years ago at the age of 53.
Serena Williams, who has reached the major finals of Wimbledon (defeat against Angelique Kerber) and New York (defeat against Naomi Osaka) this season, became a dam for the first time on September 1, 2017.
