Former top-20 player Elena Vesnina is expecting her first child. That’s what she announced through social media.

The news had been circulating in tennis circles for a while, now it’s official: Elena Vesnina becomes mummy. The 32-year-old will post a correspondingly informative photo on Tuesday. Vesnina has been married to Pavel Tabuntsov since 2015.

Vesnina had celebrated her biggest single victory in Indian Wells in 2017 and achieved her highest ranking with rank 13. In doubles she is triple major winner and in June of this year she made it to 1st place for the first time.

Whether she plans to return to the tour after the birth, she did not announce.
