ATP: Rafael Nadal offers help after thunderstorm disaster on Mallorca

Rafael Nadal has offered his help after the storm disaster on his home island Mallorca.

Eight people lost their lives after torrential rains in Mallorca, and others went missing on Wednesday. The resulting floods carried cars with them, and some towns in the east of the Mediterranean island are said to have no electricity or water supply.

Rafael Nadal, who is currently pausing for a knee injury, turned to the population on Wednesday via Twitter and announced that the rooms in his academy in Manacor were available for those seeking help, “for all who need accommodation,” wrote the world’s number one ranked person.

Nadal expressed his sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims on this “sad day”.
