Novak Djokovic will again be number two in the ATP World Ranking from Monday. His opponent in the Shanghai final, Borna Coric, may even have prospects for the ATP final in London.
Rafael Nadal currently has other concerns on Mallorca than the development in the ATP world rankings: It is well known that the industry leader is not only involved in the removal of storm damage, Nadal has also made rooms in his academy available for those who have been hit particularly hard.
On Monday, however, the Spaniard will still be at the top of the charts, but Novak Djokovic could be able to reach 215 points in the final of the ATP Masters 1000 Tournament. The fact that the Serbian will overtake Roger Federer has been clear since his end against Borna Coric at the latest.
Apropos: The Croatian will reach a new career high in any case, at least 13th place. In the Race to London, Coric could have late perspectives, with a triumph over Djokovic a qualification for the ATP final in the O2 Arena would still be possible.
But the prospects against the best player of the last months are very bad: On the one hand Novak Djokovic has won both previous games against Borna Coric. On the other hand, the 14-time Major winner is undefeated since the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto. Back in August, Djokovic lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas.
