Dennis Novak and Lukas Miedler are in the main draw at the ATP Challenger Tournament in Ismaning. Alexander Erler could join in by qualifying.
After his strong appearance in South Tyrol at the ATP-Challenger in Ortisei, where he was defeated by Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the semi-final tournament favourite, Dennis Novak will serve in the north of Munich next week. The Austrian Davis Cup player is in fifth position at the second edition of the challenger in Ismaning and could face Lorenzo Sonego, the only top 100 player in the 32-grid, in the quarter-finals.
Defending champion Yannick Hanfmann is missing in Tavleau, the German has been suffering from an injury for several weeks.
That’s why Lucas Miedler is at the start, ranked eighth. Miedler, who qualified for the main draw in St. Petersburg, will play in the first round against the German Louis Wessels, who was awarded a wildcard by the organizers.
Alexander Erler, who has already survived the first qualifying lap in Ismaning, is also doing well in the race.
