ATP: Mischa Zverev also in Moscow in the first round raus

Mischa Zverev has conceded his sixth consecutive first-round defeat on the ATP Tour at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.

The Hamburg player lost 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, 1-6 to Frenchman Benoit Paire in his home town of Hamburg at the start of the ATP Tour, leaving the 31-year-old without a win since August.

Zverev started the match well and was already leading 5:2 in the first set. However, he lost his serve and lost the tie-break passage. He won the second set with two breaks in only 29 minutes.

At the beginning of the third set, Zverev, the only German in the main field, gave up his serve again and did not come close to a break himself. The hard court tournament is endowed with 936,435 dollars (806,000 euros).
