WTA: Round of 16: Andrea Petkovic successfully competes in Luxembourg

Andrea Petkovic also proved her good form at the opening of the WTA tournament in Luxembourg.

Three days after her semi-final participation in Linz, the 31-year-old from Darmstadt won 6:3, 6:4 against Alison van Uytvanck from Belgium.

In the round of 16 Petkovic will face Johanna Larsson from Sweden or Katerina Siniakova from Czechoslovakia in seventh place. The former Fed Cup player convinced with her serve, she didn’t get a break in the whole match.

Julia Görges (Bad Oldesloe) is also represented at the tournament in the Grand Duchy. Germany’s number two will play Viktoria Kuzmova from Slovakia in the evening. Carina Witthöft (Hamburg) and Tatjana Maria (Bad Saulgau) had already failed in the first round on Monday.
